Category: Xerox system error power off then on

Today we are getting basic and talking about power. Often when you have an issue with your machine a simple power off power on or POPO pronounced Poe Poe like the poet Edgar Allen Poeis all you need to clear an error.

Sometimes power problems can keep your printer from fully turning on. So what could cause the printer or multifunction printer to not complete its start up? Again the answer is power.

To solve or at least narrow down this issue you will be asked by support to plug the machine into a dedicated outlet.

That means no power strip and no surge protector. Plug the printer into the outlet and unplug any other devices from the outlet. Insufficient power can keep the machine from operating correctly so by removing any other devices between the machine and the power source we can see if it is a power issue or something else.

If the problem continues after plugging directly into the outlet you may be asked to try another outlet and to plug something else into the outlet to make sure it is working properly. If the printer works when isolated to the dedicated outlet then the issue was with the previous connection. You should also make sure that the power cord is plugged in snugly at the machine and the outlet.

Examine the power cord to make sure there are no nicked or exposed area, if there are then try another power cord. If you have one of those devices make sure you power off both switches.

When POPOing make sure to leave the printer off for a full minute, 60 seconds, no less. One other thing you can try if the machine is not turning on properly is to disconnect anything else attached to the printer like network cables, USB drive, phone lines etc.

You can find information on no power or printer not turning on by searching those terms in the online support for your model of printer. If none of the solutions help then you might need to call your local support centre for additional assistance. Check your inbox or spam folder to confirm your subscription.

Please take a look at the solution for loading envelopes for print in the online support for your machine. Also take a look at the video about loading the envelopes in your WorkCentre If this information does not help please consider contacting your local support centre. Thanks, CherylO-Xerox. Logging In as System Administrator on Your Xerox Printer

And Dont close faulty try. On printer your printer is working now. Please see the new article for the latest information. Do you know how to log in as the System Administrator on your Xerox printer or multifunction device? The system administrator mode allows you to use many accounting and security features and gives you access to change default modes on the machine. The machines come with a default username and password. We recommend that you change the password to something unique to limit access to the people you choose to have the ability to change settings on the machine or in the system administrator areas of the machine.

When you change the password please make sure you remember what it is, if it is lost or forgotten service will be required to reset the password. To find out what the default username and password are you can search on username or password on the support page for your model of machine. The username and password for the machine is the same as the one you would use when making changes in the CentreWare Internet Services.

The username and password are needed to access the Tools mode on the user interface at the machine. So this username and password are important in the configuration and the security of your machine. We have a video that shows how to login at the machine as the system administrator.

Please always remember to log out of the system administrator mode to safeguard your machine. If you have any questions about the system administrator logon or how to change the password from the default, please look at the support page for your machine. Check your inbox or spam folder to confirm your subscription. Please see this solution for the default username and password.

If you require additional assistance please consider contacting your local support centre.
